I've since dropped the Soul Edge plans and have instead opted to do the default Aiseline Drossel weapon that Tira uses in her weird red costume. It was for the best really, as the cardboard I found for it is MUCH sturdier and the design itself is a thousand times more stable given my materials and process. I've made the general shape, spike things on the circumference of the blade included, and applied plaster to the base. I need to buy some sandpaper to smooth everything out to my desired texture, and then ask one of my friends to borrow her exacto-knives so I can add a little more cardboard to those spike things. It's kind of hard to describe with just words but... to put it simply it's about 75% done right now, and my costume itself I haven't even really started on yet. I worked on the weird collar/shoulder piece that she has and sketched the designs out, at least. I have the fabric for a good 85-90% of it, there are just a few little things here and there I forgot to pick up that I'll need to fetch, and from that point on I also just need to wait until there's time to get help.

Sewing machines officially hate me, I established this last year. Every time I touch a sewing machine, no matter whose it is, it jams, or breaks or something. First it happened on my mom's sewing machine, then I went to Sheiky's house and messed up HER sewing machine, and then Lindsey's house and messed up hers too. They set it up and it STILL broke. And even THEY were like, "this never happens... D: wtf."

I tried to explain that I have a curse but they refused to believe me until they saw the curse at work themselves -.-* Anyway my mom and I have a symbiotic relationship going on right now, where basically I draw all the patterns and do everything else, and then she sews what I lay out. It's going to be such a bitch doing this for the weirdness that is Tira's costume because this is leagues ahead of anything I've ever done before, but I'm gonna do my best.

I also ordered a wig for my Lethe costume and figure what time I don't spend doing Tira I could spend doing Lethe (from Fire Emblem.) She seems fairly easy to do and I have a feeling she'll be much easier to walk around the convention in. I'll probably sport that costume on the days I dedicate to shopping around the con. So... yeah that's pretty much where I am right now. I have a month to finish a lot of things x3 wish me luck.
